Sew: Together – The Legacy of Marion Stewart

Lamb Gallery, Tower Building
University of Dundee
Daily 1-5pm

This exhibition presents a tribute to textile artist and designer Marion Stewart, who worked for many years at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee where she inspired generations of students through her teaching. Marion had a formidable work ethic and believed that her students’ work was art as it was based on observed drawing and design. She encouraged the formation of the influential group Embryo in 1980, and many of her students have gone on to forge successful careers in art, design and education. This exhibition features work by Marion and by many of the students who were inspired by her.
